Submit Notice

Submitting a notice to be published in the Gazette

Notices published in the South Australian Government Gazette cover a broad range of aspects of government concern and regulation; most notices are published as a requirement of law.

Publishing Day

The South Australian Government Gazette is edited, paginated, and issued on Thursday afternoon, except where the Executive Council meeting is changed, wherein publishing occurs on the day specified by the Council.

Notice Submission Deadline

Notices for gazettal should be emailed as attachments to governmentgazettesa@sa.gov.au before 4 p.m. on the Tuesday, prior to Thursday publishing.

Gazette Submission Requirements

Content is to be submitted in the following formats:

  • Notices as individual Word files (.doc)
  • Maps, images, and diagrams as separate PNG (.png) or PDF files (.pdf)
  • For content requiring official signature for authorisation—
    • original unsigned notices as Word files with a copy of the signed notice as PDF files

Please provide the following information in your email:

  • Requested date the notice is to be gazetted
  • Notification of whether a return email confirmation (receipt) of email is required
  • Email address and phone number of the person/s who will be authorising the submission
  • Purchase order, if it is required by your business unit
  • Name of the organisation and contact person to be charged for the notice, if applicable
  • Details that may impact on publication of the notice

Proofs of formatted content are returned via email, and any alterations are to be returned before 4 p.m. the day preceding publication.

All submitted notices will be gazetted unless notification is received before 10 a.m. the day of publication.

Supplementary Gazette

A Supplementary Gazette may be published by negotiation with the Manager or other nominated Gazette staff.

The publishing of a Supplementary Gazette will be sanctioned:

  • when there is an urgent issue needing to be published, (for example, COVID-19 Emergency Response, a time sensitive matter or other Major Emergency Declaration); or
  • when there is an extraordinarily large notice.

Due to the urgent situations these Gazettes are normally published under, the deadlines will be by negotiation.

A Supplementary Gazette is not intended to be used a fall back.
