The Mid Murray Council, in partnership with Country Arts SA and the Local Government Association, is providing the opportunity for one community group to create an iconic art piece or mural in their town.
Working with professional artist Sarah Boese, the winning group will design and install their own vibrant cultural legacy, which will become a focal point for future local events.
The project encourages and raises awareness of community wellbeing, in line with this year’s Public Health Week theme Hope. It supports the concept that engaging in two or more hours of arts per week can significantly improve mental health.
All not-for-profit community organisations located in the Mid Murray region are asked to think about how mental health has affected their community in the past and what this mural would mean for the future.
Please refer to the Mid Murray Council website for further information on the Hope Street mural project and to submit the Expression of Interest form—entries close on Friday 14 April 2017.
