When the State Library closes for the day, the books are brought to life as fascinating characters and informative narratives are displayed on the exterior wall of the Institute Building.
The Story Wall uses imagery and sound, allowing viewers to select from a screening menu on the outdoor interactive pod. This permanent projection installation is the first of its kind in Australia, showcasing the State Library’s exhibitions and collections.
The Story Wall is provided for free, occurring daily from sunset to midnight. Screening every evening of the year, it connects the community to our State’s history in a unique, creative and engaging way.
